Here are a few tips when designing a conference room:
Noise: Yes noise. Consider the noise outside the room as well as inside. Noise may stem from; people, furniture or appliances. Windows: Think for one moment is there sufficient windows, is it the correct size? Windows offer ventilation and lighting two very essential components to a great comfortable room. Moreover, for those lucky enough a window that shows off that great view. However, in designing there is also too much light, ‘glare’, heat and noise. So, what’s your next move? Heating/Cooling: Passive solar design takes advantage of a building’s site, climate, and materials to minimize energy use. A well-designed passive solar home first reduces heating and cooling loads through energy-efficiency strategies and then meets those reduced loads in whole or part with solar energy. The key elements of passive design are: building location and orientation on the site; building layout; window design; insulation (including window insulation); thermal mass; shading; and ventilation. Size: When designing give yourself some time to think and plan. For instance some key questions to ask are;
- Will it be used for small or large groups
- Size of furniture
- Walking area

Furniture: Once, you have gone to at least one conference you would know that they last quite some time so comfort is a MUST. Think Ergonomics! Of course this does not limit you to seating but also desks as well.
